Customer Service Jobs in Ontario
A Customer Service Representative in the Insurance industry is primarily responsible for managing customer queries and complaints. Their roles may also include policy renewals, processing modifications, and liaising with other departments like underwriting or claims. Therefore, they must have excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of the insurance sector.
Before becoming a Customer Service Representative in an insurance company, a person may have roles such as a Sales Representative where they gain experience in dealing with customers and understanding their needs. They might also work as an Administrative Assistant or a Call Center Agent, which would offer them significant exposure to customer service. As for certifications, while a high school diploma might be sufficient for some companies, others may require a degree in business or a related field. However, having a certificate in Customer Service or related courses can be beneficial. Additionally, knowledge of insurance laws and regulations and proficiency in using insurance software will also be a plus.
