Claims Jobs in District of Columbia
A Claims Professional in the insurance industry is responsible for handling insurance claims filed by policyholders. Their role includes investigating the claim, determining the policyholder's coverage, negotiating settlements, and authorizing payments. They are often the main point of contact for clients during the claims process and will work closely with underwriters, brokers, and other insurance professionals. Claims Professionals should have excellent customer service skills, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Prior to becoming a Claims Professional, a person might serve in roles such as Insurance Underwriter, Insurance Sales Agent, or Claims Adjuster Trainee.
