The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description- Lead risk analysis, underwriting and due diligence process for new delegated underwriting authority including a variety of products, classes of business, and industries.
- Develop, administer, and monitor underwriting guidelines and manuals for delegated underwriting authority of multiple product lines including property, casualty, financial lines, etc.
- Manage referral business with prescribed Letter of Authority.
- Executes the North America Programs strategic vision and appetite directly in market with wholesale brokers, MGAs, program administrators, and DUA operators of significance.
- Strong personal brand in delegated underwriting authority market to establish and maintain relationships with the DUA community.
- Lead management of in-force book of business ensuring programs are profitable, operating compliantly, and executing the terms of our agreed underwriting structure.
- Support NA Programs leadership team with special projects and strategic efforts to drive profitable growth of the profit center.
- Work directly with profit center underwriting leadership to develop new program appetite and proactive pipeline management strategy.
- Analyze information to identify trends and patterns in book and proactively drive action where needed with program managers.
- Oversee revenue and claims transactional data in systems of record MFX and Genius.
- Manage profit sharing strategy for new and in-force book including wording, strategy, and partnership with actuarial to calculate and maintain accuracy of financials.
- Travel required up to 10%.
- Telecommuting permitted up to 60%.
Position requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business, Finance, Insurance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field and 2.5 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Position requires demonstrable experience in the following:
- Evaluating underwriting risks within a scope of responsibility that includes competence with all phases and aspects of the underwriting process, and proficiency in the use of qualitative and quantitative tools and techniques.
- Comprehension of complex technical underwriting issues and defining and implementing necessary underwriting and administrative processes/workflows to properly manage or administer related issues.
- Developing and underwriting profitable business.
- Underwriting in programs or delegated underwriting authority.
- Experience in multi-line underwriting (professional liability, general liability, property, inland marine, and construction) environment.
- Advanced knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Non-admitted underwriting experience.
- Business operations knowledge including understanding the function's value chain and market conditions.
- Experience managing due diligence and onboarding of new delegated underwriting authority programs.
- Proficiency managing profit sharing calculations and multi-year management process.
- Policy administration systems MFX and Genius.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Travel required up to 10%.
- Telecommuting permitted up to 60%.
