This position will be based in our Satellite office in Reno Nevada with an option for occasional telecommuting. You will be expected to live within a commutable distance.

Are you a meticulous, confidential and dedicated financial professional with a passion for organization and accuracy? We are seeking a Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records for the company and family members, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reported.

As a Bookkeeper, you will maintain general ledgers, prepare balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and journal entries with the assistance of Senior Bookkeepers and Accountants. You will prepare bank statement reconciliations and track financial activities, including stocks, money markets, and mutual funds, providing analysis of gains and losses. You will act as a liaison with our outside payroll provider, reviewing payroll runs and tax reports, and prepare internal payroll for review by Accountants or Senior Bookkeepers.

Managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and broker accounts, and maintaining accurate inventory records will be key responsibilities. You will monitor cash balances, assist Tax Accountants with gathering information for tax returns, and prepare 1099s. Working with Accountants, you will accurately book purchases and sales of investments and prepare data for internal and external auditors.

You will assist with loan applications for auto, boat, and home purchases, and support outside bookkeepers where applicable. Preparing daily time records for monthly invoices, coordinating with Accountants and Senior Bookkeepers on banking and accounting needs, and preparing cash flow projections will also be part of your role. Tracking new investments and handling light office manager duties, such as opening mail and filing documents, will round out your responsibilities.

What You Will Need:

  • High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of bookkeeping experience to include 3 plus years of experience in double entry accounting and full lifecycle payroll processing reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Computer skill requirements include: intermediate MS Word and MS Excel and intermediate with bookkeeping software such as Quickbooks or Famous.
  • Possess some understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
  • Detail orientation and skilled in multitasking in busy office environment.
  • Uses discretion when dealing with confidential information.
  • Candidate should be a self-starter with a good organizational skills

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
  • 5 plus years of double entry accounting experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Some skills in reading and interpreting documents such as operating instructions and procedure manuals. Some skills in writing routine reports and correspondence. Some skills in speaking effectively and presenting to groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Some skills to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Some skills in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Some skills in dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Organizes and prioritizes work to meet deadlines.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $50,850 - $76,300 Annually
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
