Finance Manager - Retail Merchandising

We are currently seeking self-motivated, results oriented FINANCE MANAGER RETAIL MERCHANDISING.

Working with our Merchandising and Allocation teams, the Finance Manager-Retail Merchandising is directly accountable for all analysis functions. The position requires extensive analytical effort as well as the ability to interface well with all departments to support company initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with sales, margin and inventory analysis, and have the ability to communicate complex data in a clear and concise manner.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform rolling three-month merchandise category financial reviews using knowledge of merchandise planning and analysis to identify trends, potential growth opportunities and areas of concern.
• Establish and maintain relationship with merchandising partners. Monitor and discuss their five-month rolling sales forecast to ensure its in line with the merchandising financial budget for revenue, units and margin percentage and dollars.
• Monitor budget vs actual category margins and lead the conversation with department leadership and Merchandise Managers (Buyers). Document all strategy or margin adjustments and measure results.
• Develop monthly reporting on special buys. Measure revenue, gross margin, gross margin percentage and sell through from original plan to actual results.
• Analyze the monthly unauthorized markdown report by store and by Buyer recommending opportunity for improvement. Document and measure vendor commitments for markdown reimbursement.
• Develop a vendor performance evaluation dashboard (scorecard) for vendors. Measure and report monthly results by vendor to drive alignment and explore potential supplier efficiencies and cost improvements.
• Report weekly merchandising deck by buyer, SKUs not forecasted 26 weeks out.
• Participate in weekly team meetings as required that include merchandising and allocation planning to highlight key performance indicator results and recommendations.
• Analyze and monitor overstocked inventory while working closely with department leadership, category manager and allocation planner on solutions. Report monthly on sell through progress.
• Generate and distribute weekly, monthly, seasonal, and ad-hoc reports upon request.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors Degree required in Business, Finance, Merchandising, or related field
• 5+ years of retail experience required, preferably in retail planning or allocation
• A strong understanding of retail principles and retail math calculations
• Strong computer skills, including advanced to expert Excel skills, strong quantitative analysis skills and history of working with large data sets
• Excellent organizational, written and verbal communications skills in addition to strong presentation skills
• Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment individually and as a member of a team.
• Ability to communicate across cross-functional groups and multiple departments within the organization
• Experience working with MicroStrategy and SQL preferred
