Risk Management & Safety Director The Risk Management & Safety Director is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and monitoring the risk and safety programs of RMF, including the development and improvement of organizational processes for creating a safe and healthy work environment. Position Essential Functions: Identify, analyze, and report risks on safety performance and regulatory compliance related to safety, health, environmental, and risk management issues Manage all aspects of risk management and safety, including preventive, corrective, and claim management measures Regularly visit operational locations, conduct ride-a-longs, and review drive cam recordings to observe conditions and identify areas to improve the safety of operations Actively participate in management decisions regarding planning, forecasting, and measuring safety and risk management performance Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication within the organization at all levels and provide counsel to management on safety and risk performance Develop and maintain process for the timely notification, filing of claims, and consultation with the insurance carrier/TPA and appropriate regulatory agencies and legal counsel Prepare directives advising management of RMF regarding safety, health, and risk management Develop, implement, and ensure completion of relevant safety and health training for all RMF employees Ensure organizational compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations Maintain and update policy and procedures, ensuring employee compliance Manage all insurance claims alongside the finance department, including workers' compensation, auto, professional liability, and general liability policies Provide input into the development of budgets and collaborate with executive management to create functional strategies and specific objectives for the risk and safety function Complete audits, analyze trends, aggregate reports, and provide executive summaries for all aspects of risk management and safety Position Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Business Administration, or related field preferred 5+ years of experience in a risk management or environmental health and safety role Extensive knowledge of risk management and safety regulations and policies Fire or emergency response services experience preferred Experience with project management Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to provide safety metrics and reporting for industrial contracts Ability to develop internal programs to prevent safety incidents Organizational skills and attention to detail Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections About Rural Metro Fire and Brindlee Fire Services Rural Metro Fire (RMF), a trusted provider of private fire management and protection services, has recently been acquired by Brindlee Fire Services (BFS) from Global Medical Response (GMR).
