Position Summary
The Senior Underwriter performs underwriting duties and analytics for the Underwriting Department requiring a high degree of integrity, business acumen and knowledge of organization and its business and legal policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the underwriting operations of Insured Solutions PEO/MGA with minimal supervision, ensuring compliance with Vensure and partner carrier standards.
- Support carrier and parent company audits to maintain high standards of underwriting practices.
- Ensure field Underwriters adhere to established standards and submit high-quality accounts and submission
information to the carriers. - Actively participate in the parent company's Underwriting Council to contribute to strategic discussions and decisions.
- Handle referrals of accounts from field underwriters that exceed their authority levels, escalating to Vensure Management as necessary.
- Exclusively manage underwriting and pricing responsibilities for large deductible policies.
- Provide guidance and supervision to field underwriters as needed to ensure consistent and effective underwriting practices.
- Conduct regular pricing and underwriting audits of field underwriters to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain close working relationships with Vensure and Insured Solutions Loss Control Departments to support company and department initiatives.
- Occasionally travel to attend training sessions and strategic meetings to ensure alignment and compliance with underwriting standards.
- Build, maintain and promote relationships with team members, peers across disciplines, and all other company team members ensuring effective coordination of communications and services affecting clients.
- Attend webinars and training to stay up to date on best practices related to the company and department.
- Complete projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal effectiveness at all levels in the organization and across cultures
- Ability to prioritize and efficiently execute a high volume and broad scope of tasks within tight deadlines, competing demands and changes in the work environment.

- High school diploma or equivalent combination of experience, skills, education (including other relevant non-traditional degree programs, certifications, or job training programs) preferred.
- Five to ten years of Works Compensation experience preferred.
- Previous experience within PEO organizations preferred.
- Previous experience working within MGA and/or Carrier environments preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and demonstrated ability to learn other applications as needed.
- Occasional travel required for meetings and company functions.
- Property & Casualty License required.
