Role Summary
The Risk Management Specialist II is responsible for developing solutions to resolve lower-level liability claims across Alaska Air Group (AAG) and its subsidiaries and assisting Alaska Air Groups insurers to protect the Companys interests. As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations and settlement decisions on claims in support for Alaska Air Group (AAG) and its subsidiaries while addressing and managing the small claims litigation process.
Key Duties
Manage and research inbound non-employee injury and delay claims, collect inflight, station and other reports, summarize, document, package and transmit to insurance company.
Make recommendations and initial department contact with guest injury claims and recommend the next course of action.
Manage and research inbound non-employee food poisoning claims, collect reports, transmit form response letters, and coordinate with caterer claim administrators.
Represent the Alaska Air Group (AAG) between insurance company and Customer Care to update Customer Care database with information regarding active case files.
Create, document, track, and assist with negotiations on employee rental car claims from start to finish, ensuring proper payments are made.
Manage the scheduling of employee interviews for claims and lawsuits.
Investigate, prepare, and represent the company at small claims hearings as needed; negotiate appropriate resolutions, with the Claims Managers assistance, to small claims disputes.
Collaborate with the companys Claims Manager to resolve third party aircraft damage claims.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
2 years of experience in operations and customer service conflict resolution, or related field.
Bachelors degree with a focus in Business Administration, Finance or related discipline, or two years of additional training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Detail oriented with the ability to understand, develop, and articulate reports for use by others.
Basic knowledge of project management methodology and processes.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage a small number of projects under direct supervision.
Proven ability to grasp complex issues and processes.
A self-starter and independent worker.
Availability to travel up to 20% of the time to locations across the US, Mexico, and Costa Rica.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
One-year Airline industry experience.
Claims processing experience.

Salary Range
$64,950 --- $97,450 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We dont typically hire at the top of the range.
